Curbside Cravings Conquered: Must-Try Food Trucks in Columbus, Ohio

Columbus, Ohio, is a haven for foodies, and its food truck scene is no exception. The Ohio capital city offers fun spins on classic dishes while giving both locals and visitors traditional meals with a gourmet kick. From creative creations to international flavors, here are the best food trucks in Columbus, Ohio.

If you’re craving a juicy burger that’ll leave you full and happy, Roadster Food Truck is your answer. I love its spin on the traditional style: instead of one thick patty, you’ll get two smashed-style complete with crispy edges. If you’re not a meat eater like I am, test drive the falafel burger with cilantro aioli and banana peppers.

Fetty’s Street Food Truck

Blend Thai, Indian, and South African cuisine and you’ve got an ideal culinary melding in Fetty’s Street Food. With fried chicken made one piece at a time until it’s crispy and golden or housemade pho broth, the taste as well as a decent price is what keeps fans going back for new dishes as well as the classics.

Dos Hermanos Taco Truck

You don’t have to head south of the border to get authentic Mexican tacos. Thanks to Dos Hermanos, its Oxacan-style (Oaxaca is known for having the best gastronomy in Mexico) of dishing deliciousness offers local ingredients and a simple but standout menu. If you want a classic dish, you can’t beat the Dos Hermanos tacos (three corn tortillas topped with your choice of protein) and burrito.

Cilantro Latin Fusion

There’s one thing to know about Cilantro Latin Fusion food truck: you won’t walk away unimpressed. Featuring fun spins on traditional Latin food, its arepas (think of them as thicker, softer corn tortillas) are super popular and combine the classic Cuban dish with its signature cilantro sauce. Have a sweet tooth? Fried Sweet Plantains are the way to go for dessert.

Melt Mobile

Melt has been a restaurant staple in Ohio since 2006 when its first location opened near Cleveland. Since then, folks have been flocking to its multiple spots in the state thanks to its endless types of grilled cheese sandwiches and low mold holiday decorations from the 60s and 70s.

Happily, you don’t have to wait for a table if you’re near the Melt Mobile food truck. Sure, you can get an all-cheese variety, but test-driving the White Truffle or Meatball is never a bad choice.

The Paddy Wagon

The only cops you’ll see at The Paddy Wagon food truck will be waiting in line for their orders just like you, happily. It all starts with a criminally cool spin in its design and menu items (think Big House Salad and Third Degree Grilled Cheese).

The most wanted are its 15-to-Life Brisket Sandwich and Billy Club Chicken Wrap. If the menu seems too hearty for the kiddos, a Deputy Dog and Grilled Cheese are less on the belly and the wallet.

The Halal Cart – New York Style Halal Gyro

If given the chance to make a pit stop at a Manhattan halal food truck, I’m not passing it up. But New York Style Halal Gyro is just as tasty if I’m not on the East Coast.

There are nine dishes on its menu (sometimes the less I have to choose from, the better off I am) with three styles of meals (over rice, salad, and gyro), so all you need to do is decide what you’re craving at the moment.

Pitabilities

Considered the best pita sandwiches in Central Ohio, Pitabilities is the food truck you’re looking for if you’re craving Middle Eastern cuisine.

A made-from-scratch Bella sauce offers a flavor kick and budget-friendly dishes like falafel balls for $5 an order is a fun way to try out its menu without committing to an entire meal, although you really should give the Classic Pita a go.
