The brand has penetrated almost every market, from bustling metropolitan cities to remote areas like Barstow, California, home to the world’s oldest operating McDonald’s.

I’ve eaten McDonalds in Scotland, England, Greece, Italy, and the US.

KFC is famous for its holiday marketing in Japan, where Christmas meals are celebrated with buckets of chicken.

I’ve seen KFC in every country I’ve ever visited. They are huge in the Caribbean, where I see them more than any other food chain. I’ve also seen KFC in the UK and Turkey.

My son’s friends even got married and held their wedding reception at a “fancy” Taco Bell in Las Vegas.
