The Best Places to Eat on the Vegas Strip

Las Vegas is a city rooted around excess and indulgence. It’s about stylish clothing lines, high-priced hotel rooms, and extravagant bets placed on the felt green tables of the casino. All this being said, it’s no surprise that Las Vegas’ local cuisine is every bit as luxurious as the city’s distinct lifestyle, especially when it comes to the numerous restaurants lining the world-famous Las Vegas Strip.

The closest thing Las Vegas has to its own version of Time Square, the Vegas Strip is undoubtedly the most heavily frequented area of Sin City, touting an endless lineup of bars, casinos, hotels, and popular local eateries. While it can prove daunting choosing where to eat when it comes to your debaucherous adventures in Nevada’s gambling capital, we put together this helpful list of our favorite places to eat on the Vegas Strip.

Scarpetta

Next to New York City, Las Vegas might just have the finest collection of Italian restaurants in the continental U.S. Case in point with Scarpetta, a chic Las Vegas lounge that specializes in crowd-pleasing, old-school Italian dishes.

Though Scarpetta boasts a handful of more eyebrow-raising dishes, we recommend sticking with the classics, be it caprese salad, squid ink tagliatelle, or a simple bowl of homemade spaghetti.

You’ll find Scarpetta in the Cosmopolitan.

Piero’s Italian Cuisine

Speaking of Italian, Las Vegas visitors would be hard-pressed to find a better Italian restaurant in the Neon Boneyard than Piero’s Italian Cuisine. Giving Scarpetta a definitive run for its money, Piero’s has all the essential dishes one expects to find in an established Italian venue, including standout favorites like steamed mussels, penne vodka, chicken parmesan, and a Sunday gravy sauce that’s simply out of this world.

Alexxa’s

A Las Vegas restaurant that serves great food and offers wonderful views of the iconic Bellagio Fountains? What else could you possibly need to know?!

Never letting its gorgeous views of the water show take precedence, Alexxa’s also takes special pride in its delicious meals, including such appetizing meals as lump crab cakes, crispy arancini, and homemade pizzas, pastas, and pita and hummus samplers.

Bazaar Meats By José Andrés

As much a flavorful show as it is a culinary experience, Bazaar Meats By José Andrés is unlike any other restaurant in the city (which, considering Las Vegas’ reputation, is certainly saying something). Crafting a hefty lineup of unique meals on his restaurant’s menu, chef José Andrés constructed his own theatrical take on upscale meat-centric dishes at Bazaar Meats, laying the groundwork for such unparalleled dishes as giant pork-skin chicharrón, applewood-smoked oysters, and beefsteak tomato tartare.

Bouchon at The Venetian

While most people might want to head for Las Vegas’s Eiffel Tower for some traditional French cooking, there’s something positive to be said about Bouchon at The Venetian as well. With a menu designed by celebrated chef Thomas Keller, Bouchon boasts all the staples one associates with authentic French cuisine, from fluffy pastries and fresh caviar to seared foie gras and pan-fried steak frites.

Mott 32

Bouchon isn’t the only place worth visiting inside The Venetian. Inside the hotel’s prestigious walls, visitors can find another notable venue in the form of Mott 32, a Chinese restaurant that combines various regional cuisines into one explosive combination. Here, diners can find classic Chinese dishes presented with a fresh spin, such as a generously-sized roasted Peking duck, Shanghainese soup dumplings, and lobster fried rice literally worth dying for.

Restaurant Guy Savoy

Like The Venetian, Caesars Palace features its own rogues’ gallery of exciting restaurants, none more so than Restaurant Guy Savoy. Fittingly, this Las Vegas staple combines signature French dishes with a more theatrical presentation and atmosphere, ensuring each plate is as elegant and playful as a literal portrait.

Nacho Daddy

Given its geographic location in the U.S., it’s safe to assume that Las Vegas has a wide variety of restaurants that incorporate a Southwestern Tex-Mex-style cuisine. Such is the case with Nacho Daddy, a delicious Mexican eatery. Though not exactly the most authentic Mexican food in the Silver State, Nacho Daddy’s heaping plates of hot and crispy nachos make it a one-of-a-kind venue you won’t want to miss.

The Capital Grill

Yes, yes, we know – there are a ton of Capital Grills all over the country. But for our money, Las Vegas’s Capital Grill might very well be the best of the bunch. Housed within the Wynn Hotel, The Capital Grill offers a wide selection of premium steaks and seafood platters, all of which happen to pair extremely well with the restaurant’s signature wine menu and lengthy cocktail list.

Yardbird Table & Bar

Like any major American city, Las Vegas has almost every type of regional food you can imagine, from French and Mexican to Chinese and Italian. Added to the mix is the Southern home cooking of Yardbird Table & Bar. Located within The Venetian (where else?), Yardbird brings the traditional fare of the American South to the heart of the Mojave Desert, as seen with such signature plates as fried chicken and waffles, buttermilk biscuits, shrimp and grits, and St. Louis-style ribs.
