Top Snacks at Epcot

Epcot is the place for foodies in Walt Disney World. With the world showcase portraying several different countries, and overs devoted to elements such as nature and discovery, it makes sense that they have some pretty interesting and good food. After all, they don’t have a whole festival dedicated to food for nothing! So, let’s take a look at some of the best snacks in Epcot to get you started.

Note: These snacks are not for a specific festival and are available year-round.

1. School Bread

School Bread is named after the fact that in Norway, the sweet bun is typically packed kids’ school lunches for dessert or sold at school bake sales. For my family, this is our go-to sweet treat in the morning. It is the perfect combination of vanilla cream, slightly spiced bread, and sweet frosting topped with toasted coconut. If you’re looking to try this sweet treat head to the Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe in the Norway Pavilion of World Showcase.

2. Kakigori

One thing that Orlando Florida has plenty of is hot, hot days. Because of this, it’s always good to know where you can get a snack that’s both tasty and cools you off! One such snack is the kakigori which can be found at the Kabuki Cafe in the Japan pavilion. I

t is a mountain of shaved ice with either melon, tangerine, strawberry, cherry, blue raspberry, or a rainbow of the lot! If that already sounds good, just wait it gets better because you get the option to top it off with drizzled condensed milk. The sweet, almost custardy flavor is a nice creamy contrast to the fruity syrups that I must recommend you try at least once.

3. Croque Glacé

For this snack, I’d recommend having someone to share with because it is big and can get real messy real fast! The croque glacé at L’Artisan des Glaces in the French Pavilion is truly a sight and taste to behold. When ordering, you will get a scoop of your choice of ice cream and sauce to be placed inside a large brioche bun and then heat-pressed sealed. It makes for a warm crispy outside and a cold creamy inside.

4. Caramel Butter Bar

The Germany Pavilion has some of the best caramel treats in Karamell-Küche. Here, you’ll find caramel popcorn, apples, and the treat up next to the snacking block: the caramel butter bar. It is a lovely combination of buttery shortbread and gooey caramel. If you find yourself in need of a sugary pick-me-up, I give this a try.

5. Pretzel Bread Pudding

Another sweet snack found in the Germany Pavilion is the pretzel bread pudding. Using leftover pretzels instead of leftover bread, the pudding offers a fun and delicious twist to the classic dessert. The bread pudding is spiced with cinnamon, sweetened by that beloved German caramel, and drizzled with a sweet white sauce.

6. Baklava

For me, the Morocco Pavilion has some of the best-tasting snacks in Epcot. Maybe I’m just biased for a good falafel, but I digress. Among the spiced and refreshing dishes you’ll find here is the pistachio baklava from Oasis Sweet & Sips. The layers of phyllo pastry keep the sweet treat light and crispy, while the pistachios add a nuttiness and a honey syrup on top brings it all together with simple sweetness.

7. Turtle Brownie

World Nature (aka the Land) is the home to one of Epcot’s most beloved rides, Soarin’ Around the World. But in your rush to glide through the skies, you might make the mistake of ignoring the Sunshine Season quick service restaurant and a decadent little treat with it. I introduce you to the turtle brownie (not made with actual turtles.) Of course, a brownie is good on its own, but it couldn’t hurt to add caramel, chocolate chips, pecans, and chocolate frosting on top, can it? The answer is no and you must try this little square of heaven!

8. Cream of Brie Cheese Galette

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure added a whole extra section to the France Pavilion and with it plenty of food that the little chef would be happy to sink his teeth into! The pièce de résistance? The crepe and gallettes, a savory crepe made with buckwheat flour. A popular option is the cream of brie cheese galette located at the La Crêperie de Paris To-Go. Inside this simple galette, you’ll find melted, tangy brie, and that’s it. Sometimes simplicity really is better, especially when tasty melty cheese is involved!

9. Guacamole

Guacamole is a classic Mexican dip, so it only makes sense for it to be in the Mexico Pavilion. In the outdoor section of the pavilion, a kiosk called Choza de Margarita serves guacamole with a little something extra. Of course, it comes with the usual tortilla chips, but mango and pumpkin seeds are sprinkled on top to add a nice touch of fruitiness and texture.

10. Liege Waffle

Connections Cafe doesn’t just have a regular waffle, it’s a liege waffle! But what’s the difference? Instead of batter, the liege waffle is made with brioche dough that has pearl sugar pressed in before baking. It’s crispy, caramelized perfecting in a cast iron pan. The waffles are served with whipped cream, strawberries, and chocolate sauce. All I can say is sign me up!
