Top Snacks at Islands of Adventure
Universal Islands of Adventure is a park filled with wondrous worlds, creatures both fact and fiction, legendary heroes, and of course, plenty of adventures! Something else Islands of Adventure has plenty of tasty snacks. From magically unique sweets to delicious classics, there’s a treat for every taste in this park.
1. Chocolate Eclair
In the Port of Entry, guests can find the cute Croissant Moon Bakery. A great place to grab a quick meal or snack, the bakery offers all kinds of goodies. There are sandwiches, specialty coffee, tea, and pastries to help keep you full.
However, there is one pastry that stands out in the night sky of this celestial bakery. Ladies and gentlemen meet the chocolate eclair! It’s a chocolatey creamy treat that’s perfect any time of day.
2. Cauldron Cake
Within Hogsmeade is the famous Honeydukes beloved by Hogwarts students for generations. Among the every-flavor beans and chocolate frogs is a case of fudge and backed goods where we find the cauldron cake.
The cauldron cake is about the size of a theme park cupcake and consists of chocolate cake and buttercream in a reusable silicon cauldron. The “flames” shooting from out of the cauldron are also buttercream. As mentioned before, the container is reusable, and there are directions on how to make another cake on the treat’s box if you wish to recreate the magic at home!
3. Dulce de Leche Churros
The churro may be a commonly seen theme park, but that does not mean they are boring. Case in point: Natural Selections in the Jurassic Park section of Islands of Adventure. Located near the entrance to Jurassic Park River Adventure, this location has a twist on the classic churro that is far from going extinct!
Natural Selections is the one and only place to get the Dulce de Leche Churro in the park. It is a crispy churro coated in caramel and sprinkled with coconut flakes. Trust me, this is a treat you won’t want to miss.
4. Green Eggs and Ham Tots
Many of us who grew up reading the Dr. Suess books wanted to try at least one of the strange and wacky foods scattered throughout the rhymes of these books. One of the most iconic stories, and foods, from the books, is green eggs and ham. Universal knew this and gave Sam-I-am the Green Eggs and Ham Cafe!
Though it may be a bit different than the original source material, the quick service location serves green eggs and ham tater tots. It is green eggs and diced ham with tots and a white cheddar sauce. If those aren’t your thing, the cafe has a variety of other tots. My personal favorite is the pizza tots that come with a vegan version.
5. Shepard’s Pasty Pie
Near the Owl Post in Hogsmeade is a green cart called the Magical Neep. Here, you’ll find quick snacks and drinks to fuel up for your magical adventures. However, one snack stands out above the rest.
Exclusive to this cart is the Shepard’s Pasty Pie. This is a savory hand pie that is actually vegan-friendly! It is a meatless beef crumble and vegetable stew enveloped in golden, crispy puff pastry. It tastes so good you’ll think it’s magic!
