Walt Disney World’s Halloween Food Guide

More so than most seasonal celebrations, there’s something to be said about the allure of Walt Disney World in the autumn. Rolling out the festivities for the Halloween season, Walt Disney World and its adjoining parks and resort areas truly commemorate the holiday with their elaborate theming, atmospheric celebrations, and delicious novelty menu items (most of which are available for a limited time in August, September, and October).

While there’s no shortage of strong dining options during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, there are also plenty of great dishes to try during regular park hours in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, each of which we definitely recommend trying.

Chipotle Barbecue Pork and Street Corn Hot Dog (Casey’s Corner)

If the Chipotle Barbecue Pork and Street Corn Hot Dog at Casey’s Corner looks like a mouthful, that’s probably because it is. An overstuffed hot dog filled with tender pork, creamy queso fresco, and fire-cooked corn, this new arrival to Disney’s Halloween lineup will leave you saying “mmmm” to the very last bite.

Chipotle Barbecue Pork and Street Corn Mini Corn Dogs (Casey’s Corner)

An alternative option in lieu of a traditional hot dog, Magic Kingdom visitors can also order the Chipotle Barbecue Pork and Street Corn Mini Corn Dogs. The perfect option when it comes to splitting food with a friend, the mini corn dogs also add an extra touch of sweetness to its barbecue flavoring.

Chipotle Barbecue Pork and Street Corn French Fries (Casey’s Corner)

Of course, if hot dogs aren’t exactly your thing, park attendees can always choose the hot and spicy Chipotle Barbecue Pork and Street Corn French Fries at Casey’s Corner instead. As with the two aforementioned meals, the platter comes heaped with barbecue pork, fresh cilantro, queso fresco, and roasted corn kernels.

Queen of Hearts Slushy (Cheshire Café)

While we’ll never shy away from the fan-favorite Cheshire Cat Tail at the Cheshire Café, it’s also worth trying the dependably tasty Queen of Hearts Slushy at this Fantasyland eatery. A cherry slushy topped with black cherry purée, whipped cream, and a crown-shaped piece of chocolate, it’s the kind of beverage that almost makes you lose your head (to the utter jubilation of the Queen of Hearts, no doubt).

Candy Corn Soft-serve Sundae (Aunty Gravity’s Galactic Goodies)

A new arrival to Disney’s Halloween-themed festivities, the Candy Corn Soft-serve Sundae is just that: a candy corn-covered ice cream sundae encased within a butterscotch shell. In many ways, it’s guaranteed to satisfy anyone with a strong sweet tooth.

Jalapeño Popper Dog (The Lunching Dog)

One of the best new additions to Disney’s Halloween menu, the Jalapeño Popper Dog is a savory, spicy, slightly tangy hot dog smothered with crispy onions, bacon bits, relish, and a sriracha cream cheese sauce. With a hot dog this hot, we recommend having something cool and refreshing to wash down each explosive bite.

Minnie-shaped Cinnamon Roll (Main Street Bakery)

Mickey and Minnie-shaped foods are a specialty item of Walt Disney World, be it a Mickey or Minnie-shaped pretzel, Rice Krispy Treat, or ice cream sandwich. This Halloween, guests can find a similarly decorative Minnie-shaped Cinnamon Roll at the Main Street Bakery. Topped with green and purple icing and as heavy as an anchor, it’s an incredibly delicious way to rein in the holiday.

Ice Cream Chocolate Cookie Sandwich (Plaza Ice Cream Parlor)

Sure, ice cream and cookies are fantastic on their own, but why choose between the two when you can simply have both? Once visitors select their preferred ice cream flavor, the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor staff will then sandwich the ice cream between two M&M-stuffed chocolate cookies. (Personally, we’d stick with chocolate or cookie dough ice cream, but hey, that’s your business, right?)

Ghoulishly Gourmet Burger (The Plaza Restaurant)

So far, we’ve highlighted a ton of sweet treats inside Disney’s Magic Kingdom. On the opposite end of the spectrum, it’s worth highlighting a more savory item like The Plaza Restaurant’s Ghoulishly Gourmet Burger. A towering burger made with two beef patties, melted pepper jack and Swiss cheese, candied bacon, mushrooms, an onion ring, and spicy aioli, it’s a sandwich that’s almost beyond adequate description.

Graveyard Milkshake (The Plaza Restaurant)

As gorgeous to look at as it is to drink, the Graveyard Milkshake is the ideal beverage to accompany The Plaza Restaurant’s Ghoulishly Gourmet Burger. A chocolate milkshake topped with a frosted jelly doughnut, a white chocolate tombstone, decorative gummy candy, and a Haunted Mansion-themed straw, it’s a dessert beverage so sweet, you’ll truly believe you’ve died and passed into the great beyond.

Layered Pumpkin Cake (The Plaza Restaurant)

If you have a little room saved over from your burger and milkshake combo, we’d suggest rounding out your dining experience at The Plaza Restaurant with a Layered Pumpkin Cake. A devilishly thick slice of pumpkin cake with a fluffy cream cheese frosting, it’s the perfect dessert for an otherwise perfect restaurant.

Worms ‘n Dirt Churro (Churro Cart)

Yet another new addition to Walt Disney World’s Halloween celebration, the Worms ‘n Dirt Churro is the kind of dessert we’d love to see in Magic Kingdom throughout the year. A decadent churro rolled in cookies and cream powder and topped with marshmallow sauce and sour gummy worms, it’s hard to believe such a simple treat is this good.

DOLE Whip Mango and Chamoy Float (Aloha Isle Refreshments)

Hypothetically, any version of Disney’s signature DOLE Whip is worth trying at least once. Case in point with Aloha Isle Refreshments’ seasonal DOLE Whip Mango and Chamoy Float. A traditional mango DOLE Whip made with pineapple juice, chamoy, and chili-lime seasoning, it’s another unique spin on the dependably delicious Disney DOLE Whip.
