Walt Disney World’s Strangest Treats

Walt Disney World is a haven for sweet tooths (myself included), with classic treats like Mickey Mouse ice cream bars and Dole Whips tempting visitors at every corner. But for the truly adventurous foodie, Disney World also offers a selection of, some may say, bizarre desserts that push the boundaries of both flavor and presentation. From weird to downright odd, here are Walt Disney World’s strangest treats.

Don’t get me wrong; I love a good ol’ Walt Disney World treat. I’ll queue up anytime for a Mickey Premium and watch the clock tick until Aloha Isle opens in Adventureland to down a Dole Whip Float for breakfast (Yes, I’ve done it on several occasions). But odd Disney treats definitely have their place and time. While many of these are long gone, there are a few that you can still purchase. Here’s the scoop and why they make my shortlist.

The Grey Stuff – Magic Kingdom

A cupcake with gray frosting, decorated with pearls and a chocolate square, on a white plate.

Fans of “Beauty and the Beast” will recognize this dessert from the iconic “Be Our Guest” restaurant. The Grey Stuff, a light and airy cream cheese mousse, was first served for special occasions when the restaurant first opened. These days, you can find it atop the “Master’s Cupcake” on the menu.

Cheeseburger Spring Rolls – Magic Kingdom

Yes, you read that right. These spring rolls, found in Adventureland in Magic Kingdom, are a playful take on the classic American dish. Filled with seasoned ground beef, cheese, pickles, and ketchup, these savory bites are surprisingly addictive and perfect for sharing. There’s a queue to purchase before the cart even opens most days!

Squid’s Revenge Cocktail – Magic Kingdom

If you know what a Michelada is, add a squid tentacle to the top and you’ve got a weird alcoholic beverage to test drive. Part Bloody Mary, part beer, and definitely part unusual, it was on the Be Our Guest Restaurant’s 50th Anniversary menu in honor of the park’s golden celebration.

“Match the Species” Poop Candies – Disney’s Animal Kingdom

This truly bizarre offering, sadly discontinued in 2015, deserves a mention for its sheer audacity. Zuri’s Sweets Shop in Animal Kingdom once offered “Match the Species” candies shaped like…well, poop. Each animal (elephant, giraffe, and a couple of others) had its own unique look, but the novelty factor was undeniable. Sadly, it wasn’t for everyone and left the shelves almost a decade ago.

Blue and Green Milk – Disney’s Hollywood Studios

True fans of the “Star Wars” saga were always wondering what the Blue Milk that Luke Skywalker drank with his aunt and uncle – until Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opened in 2019. To the delight of guests, not only was there the blue variety with its sweet vanilla flavor, but an additional green style with a citrus tang.
